When I was young, I watched violence tear through our community. Families destroyed. Futures cut short. Neighborhoods that never fully recovered. I couldn’t just stand by.
That’s why I joined the Gainesville Police Explorer program at 16. That’s why I spent five years on the Black on Black Crime Task Force. That’s why I started Fortitude Security. Public safety isn’t an abstract policy issue for me—it’s personal.
I’ve learned that real public safety isn’t just about enforcement—it’s about building the kind of community where violence doesn’t take root in the first place:
As our city grows, we must ensure that growth doesn’t outrun our ability to support it:
As Chairman of the City of Gainesville Equal Opportunity Office, I’ve worked to build a community where every person is treated with dignity:
Every family deserves to feel safe. Every generation deserves to inherit a healthy environment. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity. These aren’t competing values—they’re the foundation of a community worth living in. That’s what I’ll fight for.
